Exodus 35 - 40

Today we'll wrap up Exodus before moving on to Leviticus.
Chapter 35 talks again about working 6 days and resting on the 7th.  I know we talk a lot about no longer being under the Old Law, but I think God knew what he was talking about.  If I worked harder every other day of the week, I probably wouldn't have much to do on Sunday, but I'm a procastinator, so many times I'm doing things at the last minute.  I'm going to give it a try, though.  If you decide to try as well, let me know how it goes.

Chapter 36 is quite an eye-opener.  The men were eager to engage in their work and people made very large voluntary offerings to Godl   Can you imagine people today giving so much that someone in authority had to tell them to stop?  If our pantry was so full every week and if we doubled our budget every week, if so many people were coming to the building every day looking for something to do or someone to visit or provide for!  Can we even imagine that?  Obviously, we don't have to come to the building to be about the Lord's work, but it sure would make an impression on Bono to see people so busy working in the community everyday.

Chapter 37 uses the word calyx. I haven't taken the time to look that one up yet.
Chapter 38 lists some construction amounts.  All I can say is WOW!
1900 lbs. of gold
6437 lbs. of silver
4522 lbs. of bronze

Chapter 39 continues to remind me that the Israelites (at least on this occasion) gave their best and that God required their best.
He still requires our best.  Doesn't He deserve it?
